The Chicago Rents Initiative aims to “recruit and support landlord partners to fill their units with a purpose”.

  • This initiative aims to house more than 1,250 households in the next year.
  • Landlords receive guaranteed, timely rent payments and security deposits, incentives to hold empty units, and funds are available to mitigate unforeseen costs and further support landlords.
  • Tenants receive support services from trained staff.
  • Landlords won’t need to advertise vacant units.
